How we count the Candy Shorts catalogue
Every number on this site comes from Candy's own sites, candy.ai and candyshorts.com, read without an account. Here is how, what it can't see, and which series we leave out on purpose.
The count
The shelf. We page through Candy's video library, in English, until it stops returning new titles, and record every series: the ones anyone can open and the ones shown as a blurred "sign up to view" card. We do the same with each category filter and with the Spicy and Creators filters to see where every series is filed.
Each series. We open every open series and read, episode by episode, its token price and whether it plays for anyone, needs a free account, or needs payment. Each episode appears twice in the page code, so we match them by Candy's own episode ID rather than counting appearances.
Episode lengths. For episode 1 we read the duration stored in the video file itself. Episode 2 can't be opened logged out, so we estimate it from its subtitles: on episode 1, the last subtitle ends a median of about one second before the video does.
Prices. Plans and their billing come from Candy's plan screen as a logged-out visitor sees it. Token packs can only be bought after logging in, so the ten-cents-a-token conversion is borrowed from outside reporting, and flagged wherever it appears.
What we can't see
- The episodes of the 13 series behind the signup wall, and their prices.
- Anything that only shows to a signed-in or paying user.
- View counts or ratings: Candy doesn't publish them.
Totals for episodes and tokens are therefore floors: they cover the 135 open series only.
What changed since the previous count
| 1 October | 6 October | 9 October | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Series in total | 131 | 139 | 148 |
| Open to anyone | 122 | 129 | 135 |
| Behind signup | 9 | 10 | 13 |
| Episodes in open series | 702 | 737 | 767 |
| Free episodes | 245 | 259 | 271 |
| Series at 30 tokens | 7 | 10 | 13 |
One detail matters more than the totals: the second episode requires a free sign-in on candy.ai but not on candyshorts.com. Guides that disagree about it are usually describing different sites.
The second site
We also opened candyshorts.com, Candy's Shorts-only site. Its terms name EverAI Ltd., the company behind Candy AI, and on 9 October 2026 it listed the same 135 open series, played the first two episodes of each without a login, and did not show the Spicy series at all. Past the free episodes it asks for a membership rather than showing a token price.
Corrections
If Candy shows you something different from what is on this site, the catalogue has probably moved since our count. Counts are re-run before every update, and the date at the top of each page changes with them.
